Car rental sites in Seattle, Tacoma and other cities are beginning to make the leap to the car rental marketplace.
The Seattle-area car rental site CarRentals.com announced today that it will be offering new car rentals in Tacoma starting Nov. 7, 2018, and will expand to other cities by March 2019.
“We are excited to announce that Tacoma is our first city to offer car rental for our new Tacoma pickup,” said Jason Grosky, vice president of CarRents.com.
“We have more than 1,200 rental vehicles on site, and are confident that the Tacoma rental experience will be a great one.”
Grosky added that Tacoma will be the first city in the region to offer all-wheel drive vehicles, and Tacoma will soon offer a fully-automated car rental program.
He said Tacoma will also be the only city in North America to offer rental cars that are equipped with the Toyota Connected Driver Assistance System.
Groski said the Tacoma pickup will have an all-new chassis and drivetrain, including a 2.4-liter four-cylinder, that will be available in the 2018 model year.
“Tacoma is a destination for the Toyota Camry and Toyota Corolla, and we’re confident that our Tacoma pickup, which features a 2,500-pound payload, will provide outstanding performance,” Groski continued.
“The Tacoma pickup is a great choice for people looking for an affordable car to enjoy their local neighborhoods.
Car rental for Tacoma is a terrific option for those looking for a great, reliable vehicle.”
